Taylor Returns To Miami

This week defensive end Jason Taylor was signed by the Miami Dolphins. The defensive end signed a one year deal for $1.1 million. Many teams were interested in Taylor including the Patriots but he wanted to show his loyalty to Miami. Taylor calls the Miami Dolphins his extended family. ESPN Analyst Marcellus Wiley said that Taylor has many productive years left. Jason Taylor played with the Dolphins for eleven seasons and one season with the Redskins. Do you think this was a good move for the Dolphins?

NBA Playoffs

The finals are getting close. This is where teams have to prove that they want it the most. The Cavaliers already earned their spot in the eastern conference finals by sweeping the Hawks. The Celtics are leading the series between the Magic 3-2. The Celtics need to win one game to win the series and face the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals. In the west the Nuggets won the series against the Mavericks 4-1, so the Nuggets are in the Western Conference finals. The Rockets are losing the series to the Lakers 3-2. Do you think the Magic are going to send the series to a game seven?

Assault

Former Chargers running game Lawrence Phillip will go to trial for attacking his girlfriend. Phillips must stand trial on eight felony charges for two alleged assaults. If he is found guilty he could serve up to 25 years in jail. Phillip already served jail time for hitting three teenagers with his car. Does Phillip deserve a longer sentence?

Who is going to be in the NBA Finals?

I believe the finals are going to be very competitive this year because there are many good teams. My predict that the finals will include the Cavaliers and the Lakers. I believe the finals are going to go six games. I give the first, second, and fourth game to the Cavaliers. I give the Lakers third and fifth. To end the finals I give the Cavaliers the sixth. I believe the finals MVP would be LeBron James. Who's your favorite to win the finals?

What About Them Marlins?

The Florida Marlins are having an amazing season so far. The Marlins are 8-1 after sweeping the Atlanta Braves. At this moment the Marlins have the best record in the league. Marlins shortstop, Hanley Ramirez has two home runs and ten RBIs. Also starting pitcher, Josh Johnson has 0.57 ERA, fifteen strikeouts, and was named NL player of the week. I know that it is to early in the season to determine who's going to the playoffs but I really feel like they are contenders this year . This Marlins team seems similar to the 2003 Marlins that won the World Series. Do you think the Marlins have a chance to make it to the World Series?

Epic 5 Race

Early this week there was a race between the Audi R8, Mercedes-McLaren SLR, Ferrari 430, Lamborghini Gallardo, and Maserati Gran Turismo. In the beginning of the race the 430 and Gallardo were in front followed by the SLR, R8, and the Gran Turismo. Then the SLR started to catch up to the 430 and Gallardo. Toward the end the SLR reached first and stayed at first until the end of the race. Coming in second was the Gallardo, then the 430, then the R8 and coming in dead last was Gran Turismo. Which is your favorite car out of these five cars?

Reds Are Interested Sheffield

The Cincinnati Reds are interested in the 40 year old free agent Gary Sheffield, but only if he accepts limited role. Manager Dusty Baker said that Sheffield could pinch hit and fill in at first base or in the outfield for Cincinnati. Any team can sign Sheffield for the 400,000 minimum, with Detroit paying his $14 million salary. Rufus Williams, Gary Sheffield's agent, would not say exactly how many clubs are interested in Sheffield, but he did say "several team." Sheffield is also only one shy of becoming the 25th player in Major League history to have 500 home runs. In the two seasons with the Tigers, Sheffield batted .247 and averaging 22 home runs and 66RBIs. Do the Cincinnati Reds really need Gary Sheffield?

No Bench for A.I

Allen Iverson said that he would rather retire than be a full-time reserve. Iverson made it clear that he will not return to the Pistons next season if he is a bench player. Iverson has averaged 17.4 points in 54 games with the Pistons. He would not talk about his playing time Wednesday after scoring four points on one of eight shooting. Iverson also sat on the Pistons bench with his jersey off until he got back into the game. Do you believe that there is any future for Allen Iverson and the Pistons?

Miami police won't confirm local television report that says Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth was legally drunk when he hit and killed a man on Sunday. Stallworth was driving in Miami Beach when Mario Reyes was crossing the street and got hit.  The 59 year-old was dead after a little while. Stallworth will not be charged until the results of the toxicology report. Do you think Stallworth is guilty?

Is The Love For The Sport Gone?

Is there still love for the sport or is it all about money? I believe that most pro athletes don't have the same passion for sports as high school and college athletes. For example, if you go to a college football game it is a completely different atmosphere compared to the NFL because in college you want to prove to everyone that you are a great athlete. On the other hand in the NFL you lose that ambition because you get paid no matter what. Do you believe that most pro athletes play for the love of the sport or for the money?

T.O to Buffalo

On Saturday the Buffalo Bills signed Terrell Owens to 1-year deal for $6.5 million. When Bills' quarterback Trent Edwards heard about Owens being a free agent he only had one sentence to say to the General manger and that was "what about T.O?". Trent Edwards said he is excited and can't wait to play with Owens. Bills' General manger is hoping to fill a void at wide receiver and to complement Lee Evans. Do you think Terrell Owens will help or break the Bills'?

The Cowboys Say Goodbye to T.O

Today the Dallas Cowboys officially released wide receiver Terrell Owens. Many teams are interested in T.O. Owens is a great receiver with unbelievable speed and agility. Terrell Owens is sixth in all-time receptions, fifth in all-time yards, second in all-time touchdowns, and tenth in most yards in a game. Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, said "We will move on now with a new team, a new attitude, and into a new stadium. The evaluation process and the prospect for change will continue at every level of the organization." T.O's former Dallas Cowboy teammates were shocked by the news. What ever happen to Michael Vick?

This week Michael Vick was allowed to finish his sentence under home confinement. If you don't remember why Michael Vick was put in jail in the first place it was because of pleading guilty to bankrolling a dogfighting operation at a home he owned in eastern Virginia's Surry County. He also admitted to participating in the killing of several under performing dogs. Due to his actions he was sentenced to 23-months at a federal penitentiary. Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said earlier this month that the Falcons will try to trade the contract rights on Vick to another team. Do you think any team will pick up Michael Vick?

The Trades Continue

The trades continue in the NBA. Just recently Bulls guard, Larry Hughes, was traded to the Knicks for Jerome James, Tim Thomas and Anthony Robinson. The Bulls also traded Andres Nocioni and Drew Gooden to the Kings for Brad Miller and John Salmons. The biggest trade happened early this week when the Heat traded Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks to the Raptors for Jermaine O'neal and Jamario Moon. Who do you think got a better deal, the Heat or the Raptors?

A-Rod Got Busted!

Alex Rodriguez admitted to using performance-enhancing substances while a member of the Texas Rangers from 2001-03. A-Rod said he felt an enormous amount of pressure and was scarred that he wouldn't perform well. He also mentioned trying to convince people he was worthy of a record-setting $252 million contract. During those three seasons with Texas, A-Rod hit 156 of his 553 home runs. Do you think A-Rod should lose the homeruns he hit while on steroids and should be stripped of the silver slugger, golden glove, and MVP awards while on steroids?

NFL Offseason

There is a lot of talk even though the season has ended. First of all, the Jets are looking for a new quarterback because of Brett Favre retiring. The Jets are showing interest in Rams quarterback Marc Bulger for many reasons. Another story is wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh might not be playing for Cincinnati Bengals next year. The Bengals mentioned that they will try to sign him to a long-term deal before free agency starts Feb. 27 but it would be a hard task to accomplish. Last but not least, there is big talk about free agent linebacker Ray Lewis going to the Dallas Cowboys. Also Deion Sanders and Terrell Owens were trying to convince Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, in to signing the veteran linebacker. Who do you think is the most talented free agent in the NFL?

The Top Rookie

There has been a lot of talk about the 2008-09 rookies. The best rookie scorer right now is O.J. Mayo averaging 19.4 points per game. The closest competitor to O.J. Mayo is non other than first pick of the draft Derrick Rose who is averaging 16.6 points per game. O.J. Mayo, the third pick of the draft, has exceeded the expectations and has really proved that he deserves to play in the NBA. The most accurate rookie is Marc Gasol and his 51.7 clip from the field would make him the best scorer out there. The top 10 overall rookie rankings are as follows 1. O.J. Mayo 2. Derrick Rose 3. Russell Westbrook 4. Brook Lopez 5. Eric Gordon 6. Michael Beasley 7. Marc Gasol 8. Jason Thompson 9. Mario Chalmers 10. Kevin Love. Which rookie do you think is the best all-around player?

Will Pudge Return To Florida?

On Thursday, the Marlins announced that they were interested in catcher Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez. The Marlins said that Pudge Rodriguez is in their price range and would fit in the line-up perfectly. Pudge would fit in perfectly because he is an experienced catcher that will help out the young pitching staff. Pudge is a eighteen year old veteran that has played with the Rangers, Yankees, Marlins and Tigers. Pudge is still a great player but his bat speed has decreased and he doesn't have the same cannon arm as before. Even if the Marlins sign Pudge, he will have to share playing time with John Baker. Do you think the Marlins should sign Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez?

A Sport You May Not Know About...

There are many sports that practically everyone knows about. There are sports such as basketball, baseball, and football. However, there is one sport you may not know about. This sport is cricket. Cricket is a bat-and-ball team sport that actually originated in Southern England. A cricket match consists of two teams, usually eleven players each. It is played on a grass field and in the center there is a 22 yard flat strip of ground called the pitch. The wicket, which is made of wood, is at the end of the pitch and is used as a target. Today, it is actually played in over 100 countries around the world.

2009 NBA All Star Game

An All Star Game is made up of the best players from the east and west. Those who compete in this game are considered the most popular by fans. At times, there is some controversy on who is selected to play in this eventful game. For example, David West got selected as an All Star over many other players. One player, Carmelo Anthony, who has been selected fot the past two seasons was not selected for this year's All Star Game. As a fan of the NBA, I believe it was a good decision. What do you think?

Ward Does Not Give Up

Hines Ward practiced on Thursday despite a terrible MCL Sprain. According to Coach Mike, Ward looked "awesome" at practice. Ward is also expected to be playing on Sunday night. These actions show a lot about Ward. It shows how he has a passion for this sport and an injury is not something to give up for. I feel the same way about basketball. I have a passion to play it, and nothing will stop me from practicing. Do you feel like this about a certain sport or hobby? Explain.
